Dr Stephen Scher: Ethics and Bioethics: Empowering the Clinician
Contact Anne Malecki: 02 8004 9873

The organized “bioethics” movement has typically taken on a stance of ethical expertise and authority, and put doctors and other clinicians into the position of learning to think like an ethicist.  In this talk we move through the conceptual and substantive/human problems with this bioethical approach; introduce and explore a different, psychologically grounded, and clinically relevant approach to thinking about, and “doing” or practicing, clinical ethics.
