Dr Joan Haliburn - Short -term Dynamic Interpersonal Psychotherapy (STDIP) – to relieve distress, develop awareness and improve functioning

Informed by the principles of the Conversational Model of Robert Hobson & Russell Meares, this model of short -term therapy is integrated, structured, time-limited, dynamic, and relational, paying attention to the possibility that any patient walking through our doors could have experienced early trauma and providing therapists with additional skills to work with patients who meet the criteria for short term work. It is one of many models of short -term therapy, but is trauma-informed and takes note of trauma in the way one approaches and continues to assess and manage patients.
