Date: 15 Oct 2021

Location: Wesley Conference Centre, Pitt Street, Sydney

Attachment styles develop, before we acquire language. They are embodied, encoded in implicit memory, and can remain hidden to us. As a result of this, attachment styles can underpin unconscious attentional biases in our work. These biases will be most when a client’s presenting difficulties activate our attachment-caregiving systems, driving us to respond automatically. In this workshop, we will utilise experiential processes to support an embodied understanding of our own attachment styles, and familiarise ourselves with the range of attachment styles that we encounter in a psychotherapeutic practice.
