The Conversational Model is an evidence-based approach for working with complex trauma, personality disorders and treatment resistant depression.

Training with ANZAP

Applications are now closed for this year's training intake.  Please contact the ANZAP office if you wish to be added to our database for the 2022 intake.

ANZAP offers an advanced level one-year plus two-year part-time course. The training is conducted in small groups and is suitable for mental health professionals already involved in psychotherapy and counselling

The training focus is work with people who have experienced trauma, complex trauma and personality disorders and other treatment resistant conditions.

The ANZAP training is clinically and academically orientated. There is a requirement to demonstrate clinical competence in the model, a capacity for self-awareness, and an ability to communicate this.  The learning, understanding and application of the model are experiential and require stringent self-analysis. The intent is to demonstrate a deep synthesis of the theoretical framework, practical application and awareness of the complex intersubjective realities of psychotherapy. This happens with experienced trainers and supervisors, in close supervision of clinical work, along with theoretical assessments and a final dissertation.

The course is suitable for social workers, psychiatrists, general practitioners, psychotherapists, psychologists, counsellors, mental health nurses and allied health professionals.

Our next training course will commence in March 2022
